Recovering from a Mid Web Crisis

On this, the so-called “Black Friday”, I decided to avoid the huddled masses yearning for marked down imported electronics, and chose instead to rediscover my humble little home on the web, missmary.com.
In my more meglomanic days, I had spun off several topical websites. In early 2009, in what has become known in my household as my “Mid Web Crisis”, I walked away from them all, save missmary.com.
There was no lofty mission statement when I launched missmary.com back in 1997. No products for sale, no real plan, just a personal sandbox that evolved into a showcase for the vintage images that I loved to collect.
And so, with 2010 just around the corner, I’ve decided to return missmary.com to it’s roots, as a vintage image showcase, with articles and tales and poems and all the good old things that I enjoy.
I’m going through the old CD backups, restoring articles that had been burried in the dusty recesses of my office. And I’ve started to flag “new” articles that I think you’ll enjoy. And who knows? Perhaps I’ll be motivated to revive the old clipart collection.
Full steam ahead!
Miss Mary
