I literally picked at this today. Using the soy-based paint remover called for patience, but I'm satisfied with the end result. I used dental tools to pick out the gunk in the crevices. Grotesque Victorian Hooks
I picked up a pair of antique Victorian hooks while antiquing yesterday. They are currently soaking in some stripper to remove years in paint. Not certain if they are brass or not. We'll see!
